AlbaPharm Limited was formed in 1999 by a group of independent pharmacists who recognised the need for a structured buying group in Scotland to negotiate improved trading terms on behalf of its Members.
The company is owned entirely by its Shareholding Members and operates as a Co-operative.
The company has expanded to over 200 Members located throughout Scotland, Northern Ireland and the North of England and excellent relationships have been established with a range of Suppliers and Business Partners.
The AlbaPharm Strategy is to develop as a buying and support group for independent community pharmacy and to significantly grow its membership base.
AlbaPharm is developing a range of support services and initiatives to help its Members to maximise their income through providing new services under the Community Pharmacy Contract and business training to improve efficiency. In a rapidly changing market AlbaPharm will continually strive to ensure that its Members obtain the most competitive prices.
Chief Executive Officer
With a career in the private and public sectors including executive and non executive directorships David joined AlbaPharm in January 2007.
His background lies in corporate and commercial Banking and his career with RBS which extended over 30 years covered a variety of roles and experience in dealing with businesses across the full spectrum of economic sectors. He has held a number of non exective directorships.
Sharron has been with AlbaPharm since 2001 and she manages our accounting function.
She speaks with Members and Suppliers on a regular basis and provides secretarial support at Board Meetings.
Prior to joining AlbaPharm she held accounting roles in the oil and retail sectors.
Anne joined AlbaPharm in July 2006 and deals with Member support, event organisation and administrative functions.
Prior to joining AlbaPharm Anne worked for several high street banks and buildings societies.
Margaret joined AlbaPharm in July 2008 to develop the website and database systems.
Prior to joining AlbaPharm Margaret held information analysis roles in the further education and health sectors.
Christine joined AlbaPharm in June, 2012 as Northern England Business Development Manager.
Christine’s role is to develop the Albapharm membership, and liaise with existing members. With a career in Pharmaceutical sales spanning 18 years, Christine has brought a wealth of experience and knowledge with her. Previous appointments include Sales Manager, and National Account Manager positions with both main line, and short line companies.
Stewart joined Albapharm in August 2012 as Business Development Manager for Scotland.
Stewart's role is to liaise with Albapharm members and develop new business opportunities. With a career in the Pharmaceutical industry for over 14 years Stewart has covered territories in Scotland, N Ireland & N England working in OTC/Generic sales. He was also a pharmaceutical auditor for a few years prior to starting with Albapharm.
